Therapy for Anxiety

When an individual experiences anxious feelings what’s really happening is an emotional fear response has been triggered.

This response was designed for when we are under threat or in some kind of danger.

These danger massages can become confused and become triggered when we are not under the threat these responses were designed for.

If you experience anxiety then this can change your behaviours, your decisions and so can change you life direction, because you will do anything to avoid becoming anxious or putting yourself in situations were you may trigger the fear response.

For example: Someone may become anxious if they have to speak in public.

Clearly there is no physical danger, but the individual could create fears that are powerful enough to create signals of danger . What creates these signal of danger is actual past experiences or even imagined past experiences that are similar to ones either the person is experiencing or is one they imagining in the future.

If strong enough these will bring on frightening panic attacks.

Good news for anxiety sufferers

Whatever the reasons for your anxiety these patterns of behaviours are learnt experiences and so if they can be learnt then in contrast they can be unlearnt and this is what we do to help our clients live normal lives again.
